“I always wanted to be a hero--to sacrifice my life in a big way one time--and yet, God has required my sacrifice to be thousands of days, over many years, with one more kiss, one more story, one more meal.” Sally Clarkson
One of my favourite things has got to be photographing the same family year after year. It is so much fun to see the changes in the family dynamics as kids grow up and more babies get added to the mix, and it gives me a unique perspective into the inner workings of a home. I have long admired Shawn and Miranda's way of intentional parenting and they are raising strong and compassionate children to love the Lord and serve others.
The best thing about an in-home session is being able to capture specific things that only last for such a fleeting time. In this case, Sayje started walking a few hours after I left their home, and now her mama has photos of that sweet crawling stage that is gone forever. Kids can completely relax and be themselves, which lends itself to more natural things happening during the session. My fave!
This was supposed to be a mini session, but I just couldn't seem to stop photographing the goodness. Enjoy a little look into their home as they anticipate the arrival of their baby boy!
